In honour of the fact that Kate had so many country mates who were not always able to make it to the city fundraising events, 6 of her bush buddies banded together to organise a cocktail party in Tamworth on September 12th, 2009. 150 guests enjoyed a fantastic night at Tangaratta Vineyard for Cocktails for Kate. The function raised in excess of $35,000 for Rainbows for Kate which is a testament to the amazing effort of the organising committee, made up of Charlotte Warner, Lucy Thompson, Sarah (Dordie) Dawson, Melissa Bowman, Georgie Scott and Amber Scales.
As well as enjoying the fabulous cocktails on offer and taking part in silent and live auctions, guests were given an update on the progress of the RFK study by Dr David Thomas. Lucy Thomson proved the perfect MC for the occasion, and her words dedicated to Kate were a wonderful reminder of the reason behind the foundation.
Rainbow bead bracelets were also launched at the function and they proved to be very popular amongst the guests. There is still a limited stock available for purchase – please contact Charlotte Warner if you are interested.
