Well done Team RFK!
Thank you to each and every one of our 120-strong Rainbows for Kate 2009 City2Surf team runners and walkers. It was great to see so many of our “Walk With Me” t-shirts scattered throughout the crowd. The final tally on our collective sponsorship through the event was a massive $136,750!
The community support that such a result demonstrates lends significant support to us obtaining further assistance from Cancer Australia, so the influence of your efforts extends well beyond the incredible dollar number that was raised for the run last week.
Already 10 patients and families of patients have signed up to participate in our Australian Sarcoma Family Study (launched a few weeks before the City2Surf - see Our Progress section for more details). The ability of families and sufferers to do something together in fighting this disease is an enormous gift. The generous support that our team received ensures that many more families will also be able to participate in the research and ultimately make a difference to the treatment of Sarcoma sufferers.
